ELDER LORRAINE WARD WHITE is the fourth child born to Bishop Lillian and the late Elder Edward Ward, Sr. in Philadelphia, PA.  She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 14 years.  She acknowledged her call to the ministry in 1981, under the leadership of Bishop Jesse J. White, Sr.

In 1978 she relocated to Hartford, Connecticut after marrying Elder Jesse J. White, Jr. now the Pastor of the First Church of the Living God.  Elder Lorraine White is an Ordained, Associate Minister at the First Church of the Living God where her husband serves as pastor.  There she serves as the Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, and consultant for the Women’s Ministry.  Elder White was the founder of the Women’s Prayer Breakfast at the First Church of the Living God, after her husband was installed as pastor 17years ago.  The prayer breakfast, which provides social, emotional, and spiritual support for God’s women continues to be an active part of the ministry.   Eld. White assists her husband in various duties such as marriage counseling, baptism, hospital ministry, and new member induction classes.  In her national church organization, she served has served as the President of the National Youth Congress of the Church of the Living God, INC for eight years, after serving the same conference as Vice President for four years.

Presently, Elder White teaches the new member’s class at First Church which she enjoys as she states her first love is teaching the word of God.  She continues to proclaim God’s word as she has for the past 29 years at Women’s conferences, retreats, and youth worship services.

Elder White is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.  In 1991, she received a Master of Science degree in Reading Education at the Central Connecticut State University. In 1995 received a Sixth-Year Certificate in Education Administration at the University of Connecticut.  She is presently employed by the Hartford Public School system and served as the Assistant Principal of the Martin Luther King Elementary School for four years.  In 2003, she was appointed as Principal of the Mark Twain School in Hartford, CT.   In July 2008, she was appointed as Acting Principal of the Annie Fisher School, a K – 8 school.  Presently she serves as the Principal of the Fred D. Wish Elementary School, a large PK – 8 school in Hartford.  Elder White considers herself an Ambassador for Christ to the educational system, which affords her the opportunity to witness and portray Christ to many children and their families.   Her life’s work can be summarized in the Holy Scriptures which states, “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us…(II Cor. 5:20a)

Sis. Lorraine, as she is called by the children, has been married to Pastor Jesse White, Jr. for thirty – three years.  The Whites have two sons Jesse John White III, who is married to Sis. Walidah Beene-White, and Joshua Benjamin White.  They are also the proud grandparents of two grand-daughters lady Savannah White, and lady Sara Belle White.

Eld. Lorraine White has often stated that her greatest accomplishment in life is receiving Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, and accepting the gift of the Holy Spirit
